The Ragpicker King

The second book in The Chronicles of Castellane follows Kel Saren, the body double to Conor, crown prince of the city of Castellane, as he investigates a massacre at the royal palace. His search draws him into an alliance with the Ragpicker King, ruler of the city's criminal underworld, and toward a conspiracy among the nobility to destroy the royal family. In a parallel thread, Lin Caster faces the consequences of falsely claiming to be a legendary reborn heroine to save a dying friend, while navigating dangerous magic, the demands of her people's leader, and her connection to Prince Conor. As tensions in Castellane mount, both must decide whom to trust.
