The Huld is a reference catalogue for the romantasy genre. We record where books fall in a reading order, what tropes they contain, and how explicit they get — measured scene by scene rather than guessed at from the cover.

We are not a shop, a publisher, or a lending library. We do not host books and we do not sell them.

Accounts are optional and free. We sign you in with a single-use link sent to your email address, so keep access to that inbox secure — anyone who can read it can sign in as you.

Create an account for yourself, not on someone else’s behalf, and don’t share it. You can ask us to delete it at any time; see the privacy policy.

Please don’t:

• Scrape, bulk-download, or systematically copy the catalogue. It represents substantial editorial work, and it is protected accordingly.
• Manipulate community ratings — voting repeatedly, using scripts, or coordinating to distort a book’s spice level or tags.
• Attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the site or other people’s accounts.
• Use the site for anything unlawful.

We may suspend or remove accounts that do these things, and we may remove votes we believe to be manipulated.

Our synopses, trope classifications, spice assessments, reading orders, and the arrangement of the catalogue are our own work and remain ours. You may link to and quote reasonable extracts with attribution; you may not republish the catalogue or any substantial part of it.

Bibliographic data and cover images come from third-party sources including Hardcover and remain the property of their respective rights holders. Book titles, series names, characters, and cover art belong to their authors and publishers. We do not reproduce publisher blurbs.

When you rate a book or vote on a tag, you allow us to use that vote as part of the aggregate figures shown on the site. Votes are shown only in aggregate, never attributed to you.

This is the section to read properly. Our spice ratings, trope tags, and content warnings are editorial guidance, produced through a mix of automated analysis and human review. They are offered in good faith and we work hard to get them right.

They are not guarantees, and they are not a substitute for your own judgement. A content warning may be missing. A scene may affect you differently than it affected the person who catalogued it. Coverage varies between titles, and newly added books may be less thoroughly reviewed than established ones.

If you rely on content warnings for your wellbeing, please treat ours as one input among several rather than the final word. If you find something we have missed or got wrong, tell us at [contact address] — corrections are genuinely welcome and they make the catalogue better for everyone.

The Huld is offered as it is and as it happens to be available. We don’t promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it. The catalogue is a work in progress and its coverage is incomplete by design — we would rather publish a book carefully than quickly.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site, or for decisions you make in reliance on the catalogue’s contents.
