The Foxglove King

Lore, who escaped a death-magic cult in the catacombs beneath the city of Dellaire as a child, has spent years running illicit poisons to survive while hiding her forbidden power over Mortem, the magic born from death. When her abilities are exposed, she is captured by warrior-monks serving the Sainted King and given a choice: use her magic to uncover why outlying villages are mysteriously dying and who in the royal court is responsible, or be executed. Drawn into the opulent and treacherous court, and watched over by a duke-turned-monk while contending with the king's wayward heir, Lore navigates politics, religion, and danger as her hidden past begins to catch up with her.
