Servant of Earth

Kenna Heron, a young woman from a rural village known for her wild nature, is taken captive and forced to serve in the underground Fae kingdom of Mistei. As a servant, she must help her mistress complete six deadly trials—one for each branch of magic—with immortality and heirship to Earth House as the reward for success and death as the penalty for failure. Aided only by a sentient dagger, Kenna confronts monsters and grueling tests while becoming entangled in a secret rebellion against the kingdom's cruel Fae king. This first book in The Shards of Magic series follows her as her involvement with the rebellion's leader deepens and she weighs the risks of fighting for a better world.
