In the second installment of the Artefacts of Ouranos series, Lor is freed from the Sun King only to fall into the custody of Nadir, the Aurora Prince, who suspects she is concealing something and pressures her to reveal it. Lor, a lifelong keeper of secrets, resists. When the two form an uneasy alliance to seek out a lost item tied to her past and future, she struggles with whether Nadir can be trusted, having been burned by a royal fae's promises before. Pursued by the Sun King and confronting the Aurora King, Lor comes to realize that far more than her personal vengeance is at stake for the fate of Ouranos.
