Annon lives a quiet but difficult life in a remote seaside cottage, hiding the pain of a mysterious illness from her family. When her brother gives her a strange mirror, it invites Drystan, one of the fae kings of the Underworld, into their home. He reveals that her father once promised his firstborn daughter as a bride to a fae king of death in exchange for his own life, and the debt is now due. Taken to the perilous unseelie court, Annon repeatedly tries to flee until Drystan offers a new bargain: survive his deadly labyrinth and win her freedom, or lose and face marriage. As she navigates this world, she must decide between the home she loves and a place where she might truly belong.
