In Deeper Waters

Prince Tal, who has kept his forbidden magic hidden while living secluded in the palace, sets out on his coming-of-age tour to see his family's kingdom for the first time. Early in the journey, the crew discovers a mysterious prisoner aboard a burning derelict ship, and Tal is tasked with guarding the roguish and secretive Athlen, with whom he feels an unexpected connection. When Athlen vanishes overboard and later resurfaces alive on land, their reunion is cut short as Tal is kidnapped by pirates seeking to expose his rumored powers and spark a war. Tal must find a way to escape and protect his family and kingdom, with Athlen as a possible ally.
