The third installment in The Kingdom of Crows series follows a heroine who seeks the throne of Luce after being betrayed and kidnapped with the help of several people she distrusts, including the Faerie monarch Dante Regio. Imprisoned in an obsidian underworld beyond the reach of the Crows and their king, she discovers that the history she was taught and the people around her are not what they seemed. Allied with others who share her goal of ending Dante's reign, she pursues her own aim: returning to protect her mate before he loses himself in the search for her.
