Karma Marx is part human and part something else, and she earns her living as an exorcist. Her shady, soon to be ex-husband Spider makes her an offer: clear the ghost out of his house and he will finally give her an uncontested divorce. The ghost, Adam, the house's former owner, has other ideas. Using his poltergeist powers he seals the place shut, trapping Karma, Spider, his crooked partner, her foster child and a mixed crowd of the living and the dead together for twelve long hours. When a body turns up behind locked doors, Karma has to work out who is responsible before anyone else gets hurt.
