Frost

After a disastrous birthday in which she discovers her boyfriend's betrayal and finds herself without a home, a woman with fae heritage crosses paths with Torin, the Seelie King. He has arrived seeking fae to take part in a generational competition to choose a Seelie queen, but for undisclosed reasons he wants a staged arrangement rather than a genuine marriage. Offered a large sum to participate, she enters a contest where rival competitors are willing to kill for the crown, and finds it increasingly difficult to keep the pretense with the king separate from real feelings.
