In this second entry of The Eating Woods series, an eldritch magic has awakened, darkening the mortal world and spreading a curse alongside flesh-eating monsters. In Foxglove Parish, Maevyth and Zevander seek escape through The Eating Woods toward Aethyria, but crossing the mystical boundary proves difficult as secrets of Maevyth's past come to light. Meanwhile, Zevander, deprived of the essential vivicantem while in the mortal lands, edges closer to madness and may be pursued by a hidden evil.
