Daggerbound

A disillusioned scholar named Learned Edmund is tasked with transporting an ancient relic—a sword—between temples. When bandits attack, he grasps the sword and inadvertently releases the Dervish, an immortal warrior cursed to be trapped within the enchanted steel for centuries. Bound together, the two face dangers including bandits, cultists, dragons, and inhuman diplomats, while the embittered warrior finds his resentment toward his latest wielder complicated by growing feelings. Set in the same fantasy world as Swordheart.
