A standalone fae fairytale retelling of Beauty and the Beast following Gemma Bellefleur, a human woman hoping to leave a past scandal behind, who is captured by a trickster fae king and held for ransom. The human-hating King Elliot is bound by a deadly curse, and the two strike a bargain: Gemma will help him break the curse in exchange for her freedom. Their scheme requires tricking someone into falling in love with the brooding king, forcing them into close quarters where hostility begins to shift into unexpected feelings.
