City of Iron and Ivy

In an alternate London powered by botanical magic, Elswyth Elderwood is a scarred, prickly scholar living among socialites while her graceful sister Persephone pursues a marriage to rescue their family from ruin. When Persephone is murdered, Elswyth becomes the last heir of her house and must set aside her studies to seek a wealthy husband. Her city is haunted by a serial killer known as the Reaper, who transforms victims into plant-human hybrids, and evidence points to a powerful nobleman. As Elswyth's search for the killer merges with her hunt for a husband, she finds herself drawn to a bastard-born archaeologist whose own secrets she cannot fully trust.
