Chain of Gold

Cordelia Carstairs, a young Shadowhunter descended from the angel Raziel, travels to London with her family to clear her father's name after he is accused of a crime. Reunited with childhood friends James and Lucie Herondale, she is drawn into the glittering world of the city's young Shadowhunters, all while concealing her feelings for James, who is bound to marry another. Their lives are upended by an unprecedented series of daylight demon attacks whose victims are poisoned and nearly impossible to kill, and when London is placed under quarantine the group must confront difficult choices about what it means to be a hero.
