A woman expecting a quiet European vacation is instead kidnapped by a fey named Raphael after it emerges she possesses a magic power needed in the fight against an evil fey king. She is enrolled in Avalon Tower, an elite and tradition-bound spy academy where recruits are trained to spy on the fey and endure brutal competitions. Raphael becomes her mentor, and the two must resist a forbidden attraction as they journey into the Fey realm on a dangerous mission.
