In this second installment of the Assistant to the Villain series, Evie Sage continues her work as assistant to an infamous evil overlord known as The Villain. When the kingdom of Rennedawn faces mysterious disturbances in its magic, The Villain's manor becomes vulnerable to enemies, including their nemesis the king. Evie must take on dangerous new responsibilities to protect the lair and possibly the kingdom itself, stepping toward a larger role in the process.
