A Tribute of Fire

Lia is the princess of Locris, a dying desert nation cursed long ago by an earth goddess who is still worshipped by the rival nation of Ilion. Each year Ilion sends two Locrian maidens into a deadly race toward the goddess's temple, a contest no maiden has survived in a thousand years. This year Lia is among those hunted, and she must navigate a labyrinthine city, protect her untrained sister Quynh, and contend with her wary attraction to an Ilionian sailor named Jason, all while seeking to lift the curse and change the fate of the women who would follow her.
