Second entry in the Duskwalker Brides series. After being cast into the Veil as punishment for a crime, Delora expects to die, but survives her fall and is healed by a Duskwalker. Initially wary of the creature that saved her, she gradually comes to see him as more than a monster. The Duskwalker, who longs for a name and a companion, works to heal her wounds—some of which lie beyond his magic—while learning about humanity and himself. The story follows their tentative connection as he attempts to earn her affection.
