A Fate Inked in Blood

In a fractured Viking-inspired nation called Skaland, Freya lives trapped in an unwanted marriage and longs to become a warrior. When her husband betrays her to the region's jarl, she is forced into a fight to the death and must reveal her secret: she carries a drop of a goddess's blood, marking her as a shield maiden whose magic can repel any attack. Prophecy holds that whoever controls her fate will unite Skaland under one ruler.
