A Far Wilder Magic

In a small town where a legendary mythical creature called the hala has been sighted, sharpshooter Margaret Welty prepares for the Halfmoon Hunt, a competition whose winners gain fame, riches, and access to an ancient magical secret. Because only teams of two may register, she needs an alchemist. Weston Winters, an aspiring alchemist who has failed every apprenticeship, arrives seeking to study under Master Welty but finds only Margaret. She agrees to let him stay on the condition that he join the hunt with her. As the two form an unlikely partnership, they grow closer and uncover dark magic tied to the hunt.
