A Deal with the Elf King

In a world where humans were once hunted by races wielding wild magic until a treaty was struck, the elves have for centuries taken a young woman from Luella's village to serve as their Human Queen — a fate the townsfolk regard as a death sentence. At nineteen, Luella has instead devoted herself to herbology and become her town's only healer, believing she escaped that fate. When the Elf King arrives for her, she is taken to the magical land of Midscape to become queen to a distant king, where she discovers truths about herself and a dying world she may be the only one able to save, all while torn between her home and a new realm. The novel is a standalone with a happily-ever-after ending, inspired by the Hades and Persephone myth and Beauty and the Beast.
